"Minty" is a poignant mixed media masterpiece that pays homage to the enduring legacy of Harriet Tubman. The artist thoughtfully selected an aged photograph of Harriet, capturing her seated outdoors in a chair enveloped by blankets. In a creative reinterpretation, the canvas comes alive with a blend of elements, including fragments of the American flag. This symbolic integration evokes layers of meaning, drawing connections to the history of the United States, from its flag to the complexities of economic and agricultural aspects. "Minty" stands as a powerful artistic tribute, seamlessly intertwining visual elements to honor Harriet Tubman's profound impact on history and society.

About the featured visionary:

Harriet Tubman (born Araminta "Minty" Ross, c. March 1822[1] – March 10, 1913) was an American abolitionist and social activist. After escaping slavery, Tubman made some 13 missions to rescue approximately 70 enslaved people, including her family and friends, using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known collectively as the Underground Railroad. During the American Civil War, she served as an armed scout and spy for the Union Army. In her later years, Tubman was an activist in the movement for women's suffrage.
